The visit by the ACC HOMs to Tasmania from 28 February to 3 March 2021 was hosted by the Australia-ASEAN Council (AAC) and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). The visit is part of ACC annual programme for the ACC HoMs to visit state and territories in Australia.
Main programmes of this visit included engagement between the ACC HoMs with the Governor of Tasmania, public forum hosted by the University of Tasmania, an industry roundtable as well as site visits to Tasmanian key industries.
Overall, the visit was focused on two sectors, maritime engineering and renewable energy. Both sectors have the potential to enhance ASEAN connectivity efforts which could further expand the width and breadth of ASEAN-Australia economic relations.
