The ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand FTA is the largest free trade agreement Australia has ever concluded.  It will come into force on 1 January 2010, following discussion between ASEAN leaders at the East Asian Summit 2009.  The agreement establishing the ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement will span 12 economies, over 600 million people, and a combined GDP of A$3.1 trillion (RM9.2 trillion). The agreement will cover a massive 20 percent of Australia's two-way trade, worth A$112 billion (RM 336 billion).
