A Farewell and Welcome luncheon was organised on 31 January 2018 at the Dewan Merdeka of the High Commission. The function was to bid farewell to Mr. Khairul Hezry Arifin, First Secretary who returned to the Ministry and welcome Ms. Sharifah Nurul Fariheen Mohd Allimin as a member of the Malawakil Canberra team.
The High Commission also bid farewell to Ms. Ong Geek Cheng who retired after more than 12 years with the High Commission. Ms Ong, who started work at the High Commission on 1 June 2005, was formerly from Taiping, Perak. Canberra has been home to her and her family since 1981. Wishing them all the best in their future endeavours.
