Official Visit of the Hon. Kevin Rudd, Prime Minister of Australia to Malaysia

The one-day visit of Prime Minister Kevin Rudd to Malaysia is the first offical visit wince he took office on 3 December 2007.  Prime Minister Kevin Rudd had been to Malaysia before when he wass then the Shadow Minsiter for Foreign Affairs and International Security. 

Malaysia is PM Rudd's second destination among ASEAN member countries.  His first was Indomesia from 12-14 June 2008.

In short, the one-day visit comprised of official welcoming ceremony at Dataran Perdana, bilateral meeting, joint press conference, a visit to excahnge school program - Aminuddin Baki Secondary School, luncheon organised by the Malaysian Australian Business Council, launching of the Australia Network Program by ASTRO - collaboration between ASRTO and ABC, audience with HM the Yang di Pertuan Agong, presentation of Australian honours (OA) to two Malaysians - Tan Sri Azman Hashim and Tan Sri Dato Seri Dr. Jefrrey Chia and a dinner hosted by YAB Perdana Menteri.
