A panel of female career diplomats shared their personal experiences and challenges in a panel discussion on, “Madam Ambassador: Women, Leadership and Diplomacy,” at the National Library of Australia, Canberra on 27 August 2018. The event was held in support of the Australian Women’s Archives Project, an initiative of the National Foundation for Australian Women. The session was moderated by The Honorary Penelope Wensley AC, former Governor of Queensland and Australian diplomat.
Dato’ Sudha Devi spoke on policies, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs conscious effort to include women in decision-making positions, challenges and the overall Malaysian experience. The other panellist was Ambassador Erica Schouten of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
