Signing Additional Protocol DTA, Canberra

The signing of the Protocol amending the Agreement between the Government of Malaysia and the Government of Australia for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to taxes on Income (the Protocol amending DTA Malaysia-Australia) took place at Parliament House, on 24th February 2010 in Canberra.

The objective of this Protocol is to amend the Article on Exchange of Information which is in line with the internationally agreed tax standards. The Protocol was signed by High Commissioner Dato’ Salman Ahmad on behalf of the Government of Malaysia and Assistant Treasurer, Senator the Hon. Nick Sherry,on behalf of the Australian Government.
