WINDOWS TO THE WORLD, 19 OCTOBER 2019

“Windows to the World” (WTW), is an event organised by the ACT Government to promote the unique and diverse culture of foreign countries through the participation of Embassies and High Commission in Canberra. The event is held every alternate year in conjunction with the annual Floriade Festival held in the month of October.

On 19 October 2019, the High Commission participated and open its door to the public from 10 am to 4 pm.  In line with Visit Malaysia Truly Asia 2020, the theme selected for this event was ‘Jendela Malaysia: A peek into vibrant Malaysia’.

The highlights of the event were Perarakan Bersanding and traditional dance and silat. Other fun activities carried out was exhibition on Malaysia’s interesting history and traditional crafts, colouring activity, games such as batu seremban and congkak, ketupat weaving as well as lucky draws where visitors enjoyed winning variety of prizes such as flight tickets to Kuala Lumpur and staycation at hotels.

Apart from the interesting programmes, visitors also enjoyed sumptuous Malaysian delicacies such as durian, satay, abc, char kuey teow and many more.

Overall, it was a successful event attended by at least 1,600 foreign visitors. The High Commission extended its appreciation to its main sponsor Tourism Malaysia and other sponsors for the support given. Not forgetting are other agencies and department, PERWAKILAN Canberra and students who contributed immensely for this event.
