YB Dato’ Haji Mohd Rashid bin Hasnon, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives led the Malaysian delegation, comprising six (6) members from both Houses of Parliament, to the 28th Annual Meeting of the Asia Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF) in Canberra from 12 to 17 January 2020. The members of delegation were YB Senator Prof Emeritus Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Ibrahim Shah bin Abu Shah, YB Senator Raj Munni Binti Sabu, MP for Sungai Petani YB Dato’ Johari bin Abdul, MP for Bandar Kuching YB Dr. Kelvin Yii Lee Wuen and MP for Hulu Terengganu YB Dato’ Rosol bin Wahid.
Apart from the official APPF programme, an engagement session with students and the Malaysian diaspora was also held at the High Commission’s Dewan Merdeka. The interactive session saw a gathering of about 90 participants. Participants exchanged views on current developments in Malaysia and shared ideas of how best to contribute to the future of Malaysia. The session was followed by a buffet dinner.
