YB Dato’ Seri Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin, Deputy Minister of Primary Industries made a Working Visit to Canberra, Australia from 26 to 28 August 2019. His visit was at the invitation by the Malaysia Institute, Australian National University (ANU).
The main purpose of YB Dato’ Seri Shamsul’s visit was to speak at ANU on ‘Reform in Malaysia’s Primary Industries under the new Government’ on 27 August 2019. YB Dato’ Seri Shamsul also had an interview with New Mandala, an ANU publication on current Southeast Asian affairs.
A session with Malaysian students and diaspora was also held in the evening of 27 August, where YB Dato’ Seri Shamsul had a dialogue discussing the Government’s initiative related to its palm oil campaign and current political developments under the PH Government. 20 selected students were also appointed as Palm Oil Ambassadors and given certificates, to help in spreading awareness on Malaysia’s palm oil industries and countering the misperception of palm oil among their student peers.
