YB Minister of International Trade & Industry, Datuk Darell Leiking led an official delegation on a Working Visit to Australia from 18-23 August 2019 to attend the 18th Australia-Malaysia Joint Trade Committee (JTC) Meeting (20 August) as well as the Trade and Investment Mission (TIM) to Adelaide (18-19 Aug) and Melbourne (21-23 Aug).
The JTC discussed wide ranging topics, from issues concerning bilateral trade and investment as well as opportunities for future collaboration. The Trade Mission to Adelaide and Melbourne provided the delegation a platform for business networking and exposure to foreign investors. A Business and Investment Seminar was held in Melbourne where it attracted 221 participants, including manufacturers, professionals and business service providers, real estate developers, traders, chambers and industry associations as well as government officials.
The visit exemplifies the significance of Malaysia-Australia relations particularly on economic, trade and investment relations.
