AMWA Chinese New Year Dinner

The Association of Malaysians in Western Australia (AMWA) organised a Chinese New Year Dinner on 20 February 2016 at North Lake BBQ Chinese Restaurant. The newly appointed Consul-General of Malaysia was invited as the guest of honour together with Hon. Paul Ng, Mayor of Canning and Hon. Matt Taylor MLA, Member for Bateman. It was attended by approximately 200 attendees.
In his remarks, the Consul-General, underscored the importance of Malaysian diaspora to maintain and uphold unity as well as togetherness in line with the spirit of muhibbah notwithstanding of their whereabouts. As his first formal function since assuming the role as the Consul-General, he extended his hands of friendship to all parties, Malaysians and non-Malaysians alike, which was well received by the audience.
