HANDING-OVER CEREMONY OF ASEAN CHAIRMANSHIP IN PERTH

Malaysia officially ended its role as the Chair of the ASEAN Working Group in Perth by handing over the role to Viet Nam on 28 February 2018. In a simple yet meaningful event, the Consul-General of Malaysia symbolically handed over the ASEAN file and gavel to mark the process. Prior to that, members of the ASEAN Working Group discussed the achievements made in 2017 as well as agreed on a number of priority areas for 2018. Such event was also used to warmly welcome Dewi Gustina Tobing, the new Consul General of Indonesia who had just reported for duty a few days earlier.
