VISIT TO WESTERN AUSTRALIAN MEAT MARKETING CO-OPERATIVE LTD

In conjunction with the study visit undertaken by the Majlis Agama Islam Johor (MAIJ) to Perth, the delegation visited the Western Australian Meat Marketing Co-Operative (WAMMCO) in Katanning on 2 May 2016. The delegation from MAIJ was led by Dato’ Nooh Gadut, former Mufti of Johor. The Consulate General of Malaysia accompanied the delegation to WAMMCO which is situated approximately 250 kilometres from Perth.
The study visit accorded the delegation with the opportunities to observe the halal slaughtering process carried out at WAMMCO in its modern state-of-the-art facility. All production at the plant in Katanning is produced under a registered Halal programme and certified as such by Katanning Mosque and Perth Mosque.
