· Report of Missing Persons
Relative/family/acquaintance report the missing person at the address, telephone number and e-mail in the main page of this website.
Among the information required for the report are as follows :
o Complete name of person
o Place and date of birth
o Details of the Malaysian Passport
o Identification Card number
o Date departed from Malaysia
o Date of arrival at the particular country
o Complete address and telephone number at the particular ( if available)
o Last known address of the place of work (if available)
o Name and address of family to be contacted in Malaysia
o Name, address and telephone number of the person making the report / government agency involved
o Reason for going abroad
Note:
The Malaysian Mission will investigate the case and inform the family of the results of the investigation.
If found, the family will have to bear the cost of bringing the person home (flight ticket & other costs incurred).
The money has to be deposited to the Malaysian Mission and a receipt will be issued. Details of arrival would be conveyed to the family and the family will have to wait to receive the person at the airport or other entry points in Malaysia.

The Malaysian Mission will investigate the death. Relative/next of kin of the deceased will need to decide the place of burial, abroad or in Malaysia.

Burial in Malaysia
The Malaysian Mission will obtain the estimated cost of the repatriation which will have to deposited by the relative/next of kin to the Consular Division. A receipt will be issued.
The respective Mission will carry out the repatriation process. The Consular Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia will notify the family on the flight details for the arrival of the remains.

· Arrest/Detention by Local Authorities

The Malaysian Mission will investigate the case. The family will be notified of result of the investigation.
If the family requires legal assistance or need to visit the arrested/detained person, the application need to be submitted to the Malaysian Mission. All cost incurred will be borned by the family.
After completion of sentence (if found guilty), the person will be deported back to Malaysia. In some countries, cost of deportation will be borned by the country concerned. In this case, the family need to bear the cost where a deposit in the required amount would have to be made to the Malaysian Mission (A receipt will be issued). The family will be informed of the details of arrival and the family will have to wait to receive the person at the airport or other entry points in Malaysia.

Registration of voters for Malaysians abroad is divided into 2 categories:
- Postal Voters / Absent Voters
- Normal Voters
Postal Voters / Absent Voters consists of :
i) Armed Forces who are in service

iii) Government personnel (Federal Government, States Service or Local Authorities) who are in service abroad

v) Individuals studying full time in Universities, Technical Colleges, Training Institutions or other bodies abroad (only if they are sponsored by the Government)
