Relative/family/acquaintance report the missing person at the address, telephone number and e-mail in the main page of this website.

Among the information required for the report are as follows :

o        Complete name of person 

o        Place and date of birth

o        Details of the Malaysian Passport

o        Identification Card number

o        Date departed from Malaysia

o        Date of arrival at the particular country

o        Complete address and telephone number at the particular ( if available) 

o        Last known address of the place of work (if available)

o        Name and address of family to be contacted in Malaysia

o        Name, address and telephone number of the person making the report / government agency involved 

o        Reason for going abroad  

 

 

The death must first be reported at the nearest Police Station. To register death at the Malaysian Mission, the copy of the police report is required. (Addresses of Malaysian Missions is available in the main page of this website) 
 
Other documents required for the registration are as follows :

o        Original Passport of the deceased

o        Original Identification Card / Birth Certificate of the deceased

o        Copy of the Death Certificate

o        Copy of the Embalming Certificate 

 

 

Relative/next of kin in Malaysia report death at the address in the main page of this website.
Information and documents required are as follows :

o        Name of the deceased

o        Passport and Identification Card Number

o        Address of the deceased abroad

o        Address in Malaysia

o        Occupation

o        Cause of death

The Malaysian Mission will investigate the death. Relative/next of kin of the deceased will need to decide the place of burial, abroad or in Malaysia.

Burial in Malaysia

The Malaysian Mission will obtain the estimated cost of the repatriation which will have to deposited by the relative/next of kin to the Consular Division. A receipt will be issued.
 
The respective Mission will carry out the repatriation process. The Consular Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia will notify the family on the flight details for the arrival of the remains.

The Malaysian Mission will coordinate the burial process.

All cost incurred will have to be borned by the relative/next of kin which have to paid to the Consular Division. A receipt will be issued.
 
The Consular Division will submit the following documents to the relative / next of kin :

o        Acknowledgment letter from the respective Mission

o        Certificate of health

o        Certificate of Death

o        Certificate of Burial

o        Death Report

o        Copy of Passport / Identification Card (original document will be submitted directly to the respective departments in Malaysia).

Among the information required for the report are as follows :

o        Name of the arrested/detained person

o        Passport and Identification Card number

o        Date and place of arrest/detained

o        Telephone number of place of arrest/detained

o        Cause of arrest/detention 

The Malaysian Mission will  investigate the case. The family will be notified of result of the investigation. 

If the family requires legal assistance or need to visit the arrested/detained person, the application need to be submitted to the Malaysian Mission. All cost incurred will be borned by the family. 

After completion of sentence (if found guilty), the person will be deported back to Malaysia. In some countries, cost of deportation will be borned by the country concerned. In this case, the family need to bear the cost where a deposit in the required amount would have to be made to the Malaysian Mission (A receipt will be issued). The family will be informed of the details of arrival and the family will have to wait to receive the person at the airport or other entry points in Malaysia.

 

 

 

Registration of voters for Malaysians abroad is divided into 2 categories:

Postal Voters / Absent Voters consists of :
  i)  Armed Forces who are in service 
  ii)  Spouses to (i)
  iii)  Government personnel (Federal Government, States Service or Local Authorities) who are in service abroad
  iv)  Spouses to (iii)
  v)  Individuals studying full time in Universities, Technical Colleges, Training Institutions or other bodies abroad (only if they are sponsored by the Government)
  vi)  Spouses to (v).
 
 Normal Voters 
  Malaysians Civil Servants and Students

Malaysian Missions abroad will make the announcement for the registration and checking of the voting list.

Among documents required for the registration are :

For the election, normal voters need to return to Malaysia to cast their votes based on the area they have registered in. For postal voters, casting of votes are made by post.
