Prince Khalifa praises Bahraini-US bilateral cooperation relations.
HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister met yesterday with the US-CENTCOM's commander. Both sides discussed the deep bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, aspiring to keep these relations always stronger. HRH the Prime Minister expressed aspiration to an effective cooperation especially under current economic and political challenging situations and events around us. On the other hand, the US-CENTCOM's commander emphasized that cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States of America is vital to the region's security and stability.
Police denies permission to Al Wefaq for Manama rally.
Public Security Chief Major-General Tariq Al Hassan stated yesterday that Al Wefaq National Islamic Society submitted a request to the Directorate of the Capital Governorate Police to hold a rally from Bab Al Bahrain to Ras Ruman village in Manama on later today, 19 July 2012. He said that after reviewing the security plans and the law on public assemblies, it was decided not to grant permission for the requested rally and he justified that by saying that holding it in such a vital location, including vital economic establishments, at such timing will hinder the traffic, undermine security and harm public interests.

GOP Gears up for New Ship Registry Portal.
The General Organisation of Sea Ports (GOP) is undergoing preparations ahead of the expected launch of its new online ship registry portal. As part of these steps, the GOP held a training session for all ship-owners registered in the Kingdom of Bahrain in order to introduce them to the GOP’s new Ship Registry Portal (SRP). The training session was designed to prepare ship owners for the launch of the new Portal, introducing them to the system and explaining how it will simplify and streamline the ship registry and associated services process. The training programme was held at the GOP headquarters and was conducted by Affno Middle East.
Bahrain’s dry dock road revamp on track.
Roads Projects & Maintenance director Mr. Raed Al Salah said yesterday that the work on phase 1 of the Dry Dock Highway extension project in Bahrain is completed on time and he added the work included final asphalting works, signage, painting works and lighting and installing safety barriers. The highway extension will provide additional entrances to Northern Muharraq’s villages; namely Qalali, Samaheej and Al Dair villages. Mr. Read said also that this project aims at reducing traffic congestion on the internal roads of the nearby villages and Rayya Avenue, which will be revamped in the near future.

HM the King orders payment of Ramadan allowance.
Marking the advent of the Holy Month of Ramadan, HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa ordered a royal Ramadan allowance for all needy families registered with the Royal Charity Organization (RCO). King Hamad designated the RCO, under the presidency of its Board of Trustees Chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to manage payment of the royal donation so as to assist all needy families in Bahrain during Ramadan. Shaikh Nasser thanked HM the King for his royal initiative and for his paternal care for orphans and widows registered with the RCO.
Fish population increases at 18 locations.
Dr. Abdulredha Jassim Shams, Director of the Public Commission for the Protection of Marine Resources, the Environment and Wildlife, stated yesterday that their commission began implementing a program aimed at nourishing local natural fish cache for the year 2012. He added, the fish production operation covers 18 locations in the Kingdom's territorial waters including coral reefs on the eastern and northern coastal waters. Dr. Abdulridha said that the nursing of fish in the National Center began to produce fish and launch them into sea as early as 1999. By the end of this seasons, he stated, there will be about two million and two-hundred thousand small fish of four varieties of high value to fishermen and consumers namely: of the varieties Safi, Subaiti, Hammour, Ishoom.
