The late Prince Nayef dedicated his life to serving his country and people, and his Arab-Muslim brothers.
HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa extended his condolences and sympathy to King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on the sad demise of the Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Interior Minister, HRH Prince Nayef bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud. HM and during his visit to King Abdullah’s palace in Al Ta’ef province paid tribute to the late Prince Nayef, saying that Bahrain recalls with deep appreciation and gratitude the honorable stances of Prince Nayef and his tremendous contributions to Saudi Arabia’s growth and prosperity. HM the King affirmed that the late Prince Nayef dedicated his life to serving Islam, his country and his people as well as promoting the GCC progress, supporting Arab and Islamic issues and reinforcing the region’s security and stability.
Follow-up subcommittee to BICI’s recommendations holds its first meeting.
Minister of State for Human Rights Affairs Dr. Salah bin Ali Abdulrahman chaired yesterday the first meeting of the newly-established subcommittee in charge of following-up the implementations of the BICI’s report or Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry recommendations. This panel, however, is an outcome of the High Follow-up Committee chaired before by Deputy Premier Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa. Dr. Salah urged the committee members to observe utmost objectivity in writing reports which will be submitted to the High Committee and reiterated that Bahrain has nothing to fear as long as it commits to the constitution and law provisions.

Top Bahrain hotel project is ahead of schedule.
According to a report from Bahrain News Agency (BNA), Work on the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay is ahead of schedule, adding that the fifth level of towers was now completed with more than 500,000 accident-free working hours logged onsite. The project was predicted to result in direct and indirect economic benefits for Bahrain of approximately $ 300 million over the next five to seven years, with GCC tourism a major factor, Contractor Six Construct has a 1,200-strong team working in two shifts to speed up project completion. The Four Seasons Hotel project has already created more than 700 jobs, many of which are filled by Bahraini nationals. Situated on a private island at the heart of Bahrain Bay, the luxury hotel is set to be completed in April 2014.
IV. Social, Culture, Tourism:
HRH Premier chairs work meeting
HRH the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa presided over a work meeting to study new citizen-oriented development projects intended to be launched by the government in the housing, electricity and water, infrastructure, education, health, youth and social development fields. HRH Prince Khalifa gave his orders to start on working on many projects in the abovementioned sectors, though he emphasized that housing must be given the lion’s share. The projects will be funded as part of the GCC countries development program. HRH stressed the importance of expediting the implementation of those projects without any delay and instructed ministries and government bodies to intensify coordination and boost the one-team spirit among them.
Princess Sabeeka stresses the importance of presenting women’s human rights in the Arab Judicial system.
HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and president of the Supreme Council for Women, patronized yesterday the second promotional forum of the Arab Women Organization’s project entitled “Women’s Human Rights, Signs Illuminated in the Provisions of the Arab Judiciary.” This symposium, however, was organized by the Supreme Council for Women in cooperation with Arab Women Organization, and the Supreme Judicial Council during the period from June 18 to 19 2012 at Sofitel Hotel here in Bahrain. HRH Princess Sabeeka stressed on the importance of showing the illuminating signs in the provisions of the Arab Judiciary with regard to women’s human rights and how important was/is the role of the Arab Women Organization.
Dr. Al-Nuaimi receives international human rights experts.
Minister of Education Dr. Majed Ali Al-Nuaimi received at his office in the Ministry of Education's premises a delegation of international human rights experts led by Ms. Claire Harkins. During the meeting, both sides explored ways and means of cooperation in human rights and social development aspects. Dr. Al-Nuaimi confirmed the Ministry's interest in developing concepts of human rights, mutual peaceful co-existence in school campus specifically through promoting extracurricular activities and concepts inherent in current curricula which the Ministry seeks to upgrade. University of Bahrain's Chancellor Dr. Ebrahim Janahi was among the attendance at the meeting.
