Al Hassan: Investigation proves police dealt legally in the case of Ali Hassan.
The Chief of Public Security, Major-General Tariq Al Hasan has yesterday refuted allegations against the police in the media that the ministry has mistreated a juvenile called Ali Hassan back to 13 June 2012. Al Hassan said that he ordered an official investigation into Ali’s case and investigation found that Ali was arrested for blocking a crowded main road on three separate occasions in the course of one afternoon. He added, Ali was in police custody for a total of six hours before he was taken home by his mother who promised to bring him before a Juvenile Court Judge the next day. This effectively ended police control of Ali Hassan. At no time was he mistreated, beaten or abused in any way, according to the official.
KUNA: Kuwaiti Constitutional Court Nullifies 2012 Elections & Reinstates 2009 Parliament.
Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) sent to other GCC news agencies yesterday informing them of Kuwait's Constitutional Court nullification of the legislative elections of February, 2012, and reinstatement of the 2009 parliament, the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA). The Court ruling implies that the decrees dissolving the 2009 Assembly and calling for new elections were unconstitutional, and that the February poll and its declared results are therefore invalid.

Dr. Fakhro reviews progress on Economic City project.
Minister of Industry and Commerce, Dr Hassan Fakhro said that Bahrain's new economic industrial city should be up and running by 2040 and make a major contribution to the kingdom's economy, creating job opportunities for citizens. The Minister Dr. Fakhro revealed this as he chaired a key meeting yesterday to review the latest developments on the planned city. It reviewed the latest update on the economic city project, in the presence of representatives from Arthur D Little, the company charged with preparing the study, and ministry officials. The study puts all the requirements and arrangements related to the project within an integrated vision. It includes the cost and land space required and other details to ensure that it achieves His Majesty King Hamad's vision to develop this major city.

“Teachers college” at UoB celebrates the graduation of its first batch of 423 students.
A graduation ceremony was held yesterday for the first batch of 423 students who graduated this year from the University of Bahrain's Teachers' College. The ceremony was patronized by Deputy Premier His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa at the Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa auditorium in the Sukhir Campus. Graduates have been awarded 65 bachelor degrees in education, 267 diplomas in higher education, 91 in educational leadership. HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, in his speech on this occasion, emphasized that the Government has always sought to implement the Kingdom of Bahrain's futuristic Economic Vision 2030. He said that the process of education is not the responsibility of a single entity or sector but a collective responsibility for all of us.
Culture Minister receives Transportation Minister.
Culture Minister Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa received Transportation Minister Kamal bin Ahmed and reviewed with him issues of joint cooperation. They also discussed documenting major cultural events and keeping a historical record of Bahrain through the issuance of special postal stamps to mark "Manama Capital of Arab Culture 2012" and the opening of the National Theater in November. Discussions also focused on the efforts made by the Culture Ministry to revamp the post office building in Bab Al-Bahrain so as it would be inaugurated this year in December.
