Prince Salman urges all parties to take a clear stance against acts of violence and terrorization.
The Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, hosted at the Public Security Officers Club an Iftar Banquet for senior officers and officials from the Ministry of Interior of Bahrain. HRH was accompanied by his son Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. MOI Minister, Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa was present at the banquet. HRH the Crown Prince thanked MOI’s security affiliates for assuming their responsibility and keeping peace and order, mainly during the regrettable circumstances undergone by Bahrain. HRH urged all parties to take a clear stance against acts of violence and terrorization.
IAA Decor and Make-up departments employees reinstated.
President of Information Affairs Authority (IAA) Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, said that the authority has decided to reinstate the employees of the decor and make-up departments to their posts and cancel a previous decision on privatization. Following-up on the employees’ sit-in and assessing their demands, the IAA President issued his directives to IAA Financial and Administrative Affairs Director Abdulaziz Al Ashraf to contact the relevant employees and look into procedures for their immediate reinstatement.
Southern Governorate organizes introductory meeting on the GCC Union.
The Southern Governorate organized for its members an introductory meeting on the GCC Union project. A lecture was given by Ministry of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Regional and GCC Affairs Mr. Hamad Ahmed Al Amer, as part of cooperation between the Southern Governorate and ministries as well as government bodies. Mr. Hamad spotlighted various issues revolving around the history of the GCC and its main goals as well as the reasons and objectives behind the GCC union. Southern Governorate Governor, Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa attended the session and thanked Mr. Al Amer for his efforts to promote local, regional and international political culture.

Bahrain plans $1 billion bond issue in Malaysia.
Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company plans to raise around $1 billion in an Islamic bond issue on the Malaysian stock market. It will issue 20-year Islamic bonds or sukuk worth three billion Malaysian Ringgit ($954 million) shortly. Part of the proceeds are expected to be used to pay off existing debt as it matures. The bond issue has already been awarded an AA2 rating by Malaysian rating agency RAM. Commenting on this rating, Mahmood Al Kooheji, Chief Executive Officer of Mumtalakat said that Mumtalakat sought this rating as part of its objective to pursue the highest levels of transparency, and provide platforms to keep institutional investors informed about the Company and Bahrain.

Prince Khalifa visits dignitary Mubarak Kanoo.
HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa visited yesterday dignitary Mubarak Kanoo to get assured about his health after a recent illness. HRH the Prime Minister got assured about the health of dignitary Mubarak Kanoo, praying to Allah the Almighty to bless him with a speedy recovery. The Kanoo family has a historic pioneering role in Bahrain society socially and economically.
BCC to celebrate the “Gergaooun”.
A major Bahrain City Center official has revealed of the BCC’s intention of celebrating the Gergaooun. The Gergaooun is a traditional Bahraini festivity for children and recognised mid-way through Ramadan. The custom is practiced mainly by children throughout the community, as they dress up in new clothes and visit relatives, collecting gifts and sweets. Starting at 9pm on July 31, a parade of children dressed in traditional Bahraini clothes and mascots including the popular “horse-man” Frasya, will roam the mall while accompanied by a traditional drumming band.
Riffa Views homeowners elect a body.
Homeowners of Riffa Views have elected the official members of the first “Interim Homeowners Association” to be established for a residential development in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The “Interim Riffa Views Homeowners Association” (IRVHA) will work an advisory body and will also allow for an increased participation of the homeowners in the management of the common areas of the development, and ultimately will pave the way for the formation of the final Homeowners Association in the future. The “IRVHA” is comprised of nine Members with equal representation for each of the three residential estates and will provide feedback and input on the range and quality of services provided for the upkeep of the community and any issues that relate to the common areas.
