We encounter terrorist operations through law enforcement, Lt-General Shaikh Rashid.
Minister of Interior, Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa yesterday dismissed any allegations of killing and torturing protesters by his Ministry or any members or associations affiliated to it. Shaikh Rashid said that the Ministry do not remedy acts of terror by similar acts of terror but it encounters terrorist operations through law enforcement. He added that the ministry monitor activities of terror gangs around the clock and have always been successful in foiling their plots using pre-emptive counter-terrorism operation tactics.
Nabeel Rajab remanded in custody for seven days pending investigation.
Public Prosecution Secretary Adnan Matar announced yesterday that the Public Prosecution remanded Mr. Nabeel Ahmed Abdulrasool Rajab in custody for seven days pending investigation. The decision was taken following a complaint filed by some people from Muharraq accusing him of publicly vilifying Muharraq citizens and questioning their patriotism with disgraceful expressions posted via social networking websites. Initial investigations have confirmed the accusation.
Ambassador Al Belooshi harassment refutes allegations.
H.E. Nasser Al Belooshi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to France, forcefully refutes the inaccurate and unfounded allegations of assault by his former domestic workers made against him and his son. H.E. Al-Belooshi remains at the disposal of the French authorities to shed light on these accusations.

Dr. Mirza receives the Dean Institute of French Petroleum.
Minister of Energy Dr. Abdulhussain bin Ali Mirza received the Dean of the Institute of French Petroleum (IFP) Jean-Luc Karnik, currently on a visit to the kingdom. During the meeting, Dr. Mirza praised specialized schools and institutes for the quality technical training and rehabilitation provide for oil and gas employees. He also expressed the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA)'s interest in training and rehabilitating its cadres in cooperation with those institutes. On his part, Jean-Luc Karnik briefed the Energy Minister on IFP's programmes and future plans and also expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Mirza for the meeting.
IV. Social, Culture, Tourism:
Shaikha Mai opens Art Expo.
The Minister of Culture, Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-khalifa opened a Fine Art exhibition for well-known artists from the Arab World, Asia and Europe. The exhibition included valuable collection of wonderful modern plastic Art and Arabic script in cooperation with Art Select and Art Space who have a fine collection of well-known artist work. The Minister affirmed on the importance of visiting the exhibition to get a close look at the works of Bahraini and other international plastic artists. The exhibition holds 35 artworks and continues till 8th June 2012.
