On 7 February 2018, Ambassador Agus Salim Yusof had a meeting with Mr. Kresimir Kucko, CEO of Gulf Air, Bahrain's national airline. The Deputy CEO, Capt. Waleed Alalawi was also present. The purpose of the meeting was to invite Gulf Air to resume its operation in Kuala Lumpur after it was suspended in 2012. This is attributed to the enhanced Malaysia-Bahrain bilateral relations recently and new aircrafts that Gulf Air expects to receive this year and in the next few years.
