Mohammed Bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies, under the ambit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Bahrain hosted the first International Diplomats Program (IDP) for international participants, from 12 to 25 October 2019 in Manama. The main objective of IDP is to serve as a platform to introduce diplomats from across the globe to Bahrain and its heritage as well as to mirror the Kingdom’s political, economic and cultural achievements. Ms Nur Hafizah Amin, an officer from the West Asia Division, Wisma Putra represented Malaysia at the IDP, participated by 15 countries.
Among the highlights during the two-week program are meetings with His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, National Security Advisor and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Affairs (SCYS) Chairman on 24 October 2019; and His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bahrain on 23 October 2019. During both meetings, the participants were given the opportunity to interact with both leaders and exchange views on Bahrain’s latest developments.
Besides that, other activities lined up included tour of Old Muharraq along the Pearling Path, visits to Al Gudaibiya Palace, National Assembly, Bahrain Institute for Pearls and Gemstone, Constitutional Court, Block 338 – Adliya, the Royal Camel Farm, and a weekend getaway to Hawar Island.
