HM the King leaves for Japan.
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa left the Kingdom of Bahrain yesterday morning headed to Hong Kong, China on his official visit to Japan during the 11th – 13th of April at the invitation of Japan's Emperor Akihito. HM the King will explore ways of further promoting bilateral relations with the different Japanese leading Officials. The visit will also include reviewing the latest developments in the region and discussing issues of mutual concern.
HRH the Prime Minister Visits the House of Representatives.
His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister has made courtesy a visit to the House of Representatives this morning. HRH the PM asserted that the Kingdom of Bahrain's government and the House of Representatives shoulder the responsibility for the country and its people, pointing that the House of Representatives is a home for the whole nation and brings together all components of the Bahraini people, and it stands as a lively image of our democratic state and that MPS are genuine representatives of all Bahraini nationals. HRH cited MPS the trust between the executive and the legislative authorities as both are keen on keeping up mutual cooperation which constitutes a solid foundation for democratic practices.
“A terror blast in Eker, Bahrain hurts seven policemen.”
The Chief of Public Security Major-General Tariq Al Hassan confirmed that “a terror explosion in Al Ekar village at 7:17 PM on Monday that targeted the safety of policemen who were on duty at the entrance of the village that witnesses daily rioting and vandalism.” He said that the terror act led to injuring 7 policemen, including 3 critical who were referred to hospital. The initial information indicates that the terror explosion was caused by a home-made bomb that was connected with gasoline.

Tamkeen partners with Global Intrapreneurship Forum.
The Firm (TF), an international private members club and marketplace for business development and intrepreneurship, announced Tamkeen, as the “Intrapreneurship Partner” for the Global Intrapreneurship Forum 2012 to be held in Bahrain on May 27-28 2012 at the Gulf Hotel. The event will be the first global conference of its kind dedicated to supporting the development of intrapreneurship within corporations and SMEs, and for corporate entrepreneurs from the MENA region and internationally. This partnership comes in line with Tamkeen’s mission to empower Bahrainis according to the market requirements and building enterprise capabilities to contribute to expanding the national economy, in line with Vision 2030.
Ithmaar Bank Supports the Conference of GCC Universities.
Ithmaar Bank, an Islamic Retail Bank based in Bahrain, gives its support to the Conference of GCC Universities which will be held tomorrow under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa. Students from all universities in Bahrain and representatives from the GCC countries will take part to discuss challenges and opportunities facing them and prepare for future professional life. HH will present during the three-day event a work-paper on student affairs. Mohammed Bucheeri, Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors member, stated that “Ithmaar bank's participation in supporting this event reflects commitment towards the community, especially the youth.”
IV. Social, Culture, Tourism:
Dr. Al Blooshi takes part in the opening of the Gulf Productive Families Exhibition.
Human Rights and Social Development Minister Dr. Fatima Al Blooshi took part in the opening of the Gulf Productive Families Exhibition, which was held on the sidelines of the Gulf Festival for Social Work hosted by Kuwait under the auspices of Prince Nawaf Al Ahmed, the Crown Prince. Dr. Al Blooshi stressed Bahrain's keenness to actively participate in the exhibition in order to highlight the Bahraini productive families experience, which is considered a pioneering Arab model in giving ideas, opportunities and government facilities to boost productive projects. She said productive families have the right to feel proud of their national achievements in terms of social and economic development.
V. Other News:
BDF Commander-in-Chief meets with visiting Pak Delegation.
The Bahrain Defence Force Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa has met yesterday with a Pakistani delegation comprising a number of officers from the Pakistani Defense University who are currently visiting the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Commander-in-Chief welcomed the Pakistani delegation and praised excellent friendship relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, citing existing bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries in various spheres including the exchanging of expertise. The meeting was attended by the BDF Headquarters Bureau director Major-General Yusuf Ahmed Al-Jalahma, Inspector-General Major-General Abdullah Hassan Al-Nuaimi and other senior Generals.
