DYMM Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, Sultan of Johor was on Official Visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain from 26 to 29 November 2017. The visit was at the invitation of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. DYMM Sultan was accompanied by Tunku Temenggong of Johor, YAM Tunku Idris ibni Sultan Ibrahim and other senior state officials.
The Sultan’s maiden visit to Bahrain was significant, as His Majesty was conferred the Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa award, which is the highest award of the Kingdom. His Majesty reciprocated by conferring the Most Esteemed Order of the Royal Family of Johor to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Among the programme lined up were a military parade at the Interior Ministry’s ground, briefing by Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), and a hi-tea session with Johoreans residing in Bahrain, attended by 25 Johoreans and their spouses. On the last night in Bahrain, His Majesty Sultan was treated to a cultural show and dinner at the National Theatre.
