On 10th February 2026, His Excellency Dato’ Shazryll Zahiran had the pleasure of hosting a dinner at Rumah Malaysia in honour of the AirAsia delegation’s visit to the Kingdom, marking the exciting establishment of Bahrain as AirAsia’s regional hub. The AirAsia delegation was led by Mr. Bo Lingam, CEO of AirAsia, alongside representatives from Tourism Malaysia Dubai Mr. Mohd Faharuddin Hatmin, Director, and Mr. Azhar Musyabri Abdul Mutallib. H.E. Dato’ Shazryll congratulated AirAsia for choosing Bahrain as its regional hub, opening greater access to global destinations, including direct connections to Malaysia. As a token of appreciation, a special gift was presented by Mr. Bo Lingam to H.E. Ambassador and expressed the excitement of Air Asia in embracing this new chapter.During the evening, the guests had the opportunity to savour a delightful variety of Bahraini specialties often served on special family occasions. This includes lamb and chicken, ghoozi rice, mixed salad, vegetable dalcha, yogurt, tomato sauce, local chili paste, tropical fruits, and kunafa.
