The 2014 World Cup is scheduled from 12 June to 13 July 2014. Information for Malaysian fans travelling to Brazil:
- Malaysians travelling to Brazil from Malaysia must have Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate and are advised to take the vaccination at least 10 days before the date of departure and carry together the certificate during travel. Further information can be obtained from http://www.myhealth.gov.my/index.php/prime-years-yellow-fever.
- While in Brazil, you must, by law, carry an identity document at all times. You can carry a photocopy around with you, plus other photo identification (e.g. driving license) and leave the passport in a safe place when out and about in Brazil.
- It is recommended that you give yourself plenty of time to get to the matches. If flying in on the day of a match, you should factor in flight delays and that the journey from the airport can be long because of distance and/or urban congestion.
- In the event of protests and demonstrations, please follow the instructions of police or security, particularly in stadiums.
- You must report theft of your documents and/or property within 24 hours to the police and obtain a police report. This may be needed for insurance purposes and must be presented to the Embassy if an emergency travel document is required.
- The Embassy can issue an emergency certificate (EC) valid for one single
journey back to Malaysia. Please make an appointment with the Embassy in
advance. You will require:
- Two passport photographs
- Copy of passport
- Police Report
- Any other form of ID that you are carrying
- Fee of BRL35 (Brazilian Reals)
