On 8 August 2013, Ambassador of Malaysia, Dato’ Sudha Devi together with the other ASEAN Ambassadors/HOM in Brasilia marked the 46th Anniversary of ASEAN with a Flag Raising ceremony. The ASEAN Flag was hoisted to the ASEAN Anthem at the Embassy of the Philippines and witnessed by all seven Ambassadors/HOM of ASEAN Member States represented in Brasilia, senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil and invited guests.
The Ambassador of The Philippines, as Chairperson of the ASEAN Committee in Brasilia, delivered the welcoming remarks while the Government of Brazil was represented by H.E. Ambassador Maria Edilueza, Sub-Secretary General II of the Ministry of External Relations of Brazil. This was followed by the cutting of a cake and a small reception.
