ASEAN 43rd Anniversary Celebrations, Brasilia
On 18 August 2010, Ambassador Sudha Devi together with the Heads of Mission of ASEAN Member States Resident in Brasilia hosted a dinner to commemorate the 43rd Anniversary of ASEAN. The function was held at the Residence of the Ambassador of Indonesia. The Guest of Honour was H.E. Ambassador Maria Edileuza Fontenele Reis, Sub-Secretary General Political II (SGAP II) of Itamaraty.
The event was well attended by 200 guests including officials from the Brazilian Government, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of the business community and media.
A sumptuous buffet dinner with a variety of ASEAN cuisine was served. Malaysian dishes included fried noodles and ´kuih lapis´. While the buffet was in progress, guests were given a tour of the six ASEAN countries through a video presentation. They were also entertained to several cultural performances.
