The Embassy of Malaysia in Brasilia together with the Embassies of Indonesia, Myanmar, The Philippines and Thailand hosted a whole-day Exhibition and Bazaar on 10 September 2011, in celebration of the 44th Anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Held at the Embassy’s premises, Malaysia enjoyed great success at the Bazaar.
Aimed to better inform and showcase the splendor and diversity of ASEAN to the public, the event was well-attended by the Brazilian community as well as the diplomatic corps in Brasilia.
Each participating ASEAN Embassy displayed its crafts and promotional materials in exhibition booths as well as presented national costumes, music, and dance in the cultural program. The culinary delicacies and products provided the public the opportunity to sample the food and products of the participating ASEAN countries. The Embassy Malaysia prepared curry puff, roti jala with chicken curry and kuih lapis as well as `teh tarik`.
