On 23 June 2018, the Embassy of Malaysia in Brasilia together with other six ASEAN Embassies in Brasilia, namely, Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam hosted the ASEAN Food and Cultural Festival at the Embassy of Indonesia.
The event featured the showcases of tourism, cultural performances, culinary, local artifacts and handicrafts of each ASEAN member country as well as ASEAN quizzes consisting of questions about ASEAN as an organization and the member countries represented in Brasilia.
Malaysian food, handicrafts and traditional costume were presented during the event to promote and raise awareness about Malaysia.
The successful event entertained more than 1,000 people, including Brazilian congresspersons, officials from the Brazilian Ministry of External Relations, Ambassadors and officials of diplomatic corps in Brasilia as well as local media.
