Ambassador of Malaysia, Dato’ Sudha Devi attended a Special Session at the Chamber of Deputies of the Brazilian Federal Senate in honour of the Muslim Community in Brazil. The Special Session, held on the morning of 7 May 2013, was chaired by Deputado Protógenes Queiroz and paid tribute to the Muslim community for its contribution to the growth of Brazil over the years.
The number of Muslims in Brazil is estimated to be over one million people, but no accurate statistics are available. The Ceremony was attended by several members of the Chamber of Deputies, leaders and representatives from the Muslim community and invited members of the Diplomatic Corps.
