At the invitation of the Brazilian Army Commander, General Enzo Martins Peri, Ambassador Dato’ Sudha Devi attended the Monthly Flag Changing Ceremony at Praça dos Três Poderes (Three Powers Plaza), Brasilia on 5 February 2012. The ceremony was supported with the presence of the Presidential Guard Battalion.
Flying higher than the plaza at a height of 110 meters (symbolically, higher than any other structure in the city), the flag is changed on the first Sunday of every month. The 186 m2 flag weighs about 600 kg and is the largest flag in the world to be flown regularly, never having been taken down (without a simultaneous replacement) since the capital was inaugurated on 21 April 1960.
