The Swiss Federal Council organized an excursion for the diplomatic corps on 15 May 2014. H.E Dato’ Mohd Zulkephli Mohd Noor, Ambassador of Malaysia and about 60 other Ambassadors accredited to Switzerland participated in the excursion. The excursion was also participated by H.E Didier Burkhalter, President of Switzerland.
The Swiss Federal Council has been organizing an excursion with the participation of the Swiss President every year as a platform for the diplomatic corps to mingle with the Swiss President and the senior officials. For this year’s excursion, the canton of Neuchatel, renowned for its watchmaking and mechanical industries and also the hometown of President Burkhalter, was chosen as the venue.
During the excursion, the participants visited some of the prominent and historical places in Neuchatel, including Microcity, a centre of innovation for microtechnology. The Ambassador took the opportunity to network and establish a rapport with the Swiss dignitaries throughout the programme.
