YB Dato’ Sri Hasan Malek, Minister of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism who was on a working visit to Switzerland witnessed the signing of the Letter of Commitment on the cooperation between the Malaysian Intellectual Property Corporation (MyIPO) and the World Trade Institute (WTI). The signing took place on 25 May 2014 at the WTI.
WTI which was established in 1999 as a foundation of the University of Berne, is a centre of advanced studies and a forum for interdisplinary research, training and advisory services in international trade law and economics. The Letter of Commitment highlighted the enhanced cooperation between MyIPO and WTI in implementing several Intellectual Property-related projects.
It was preceded by a briefing on WTI by Prof. Thomas Cottier, Managing Director of WTI. Following the programme at WTI, YB Dato' Sri Hasan Malek and delegation proceeded to the Official Residence to attend a luncheon hosted by H.E Dato' Mohd Zulkephli Mohd Noor, Ambassador of Malaysia to Switzerland.
