YAB Datuk Seri Haji Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam, Chief Minister of Melaka made a working visit to Switzerland on 13 - 15 January 2011 en route from Brazil after attending the 39th World Scout Conference in Curitiba, Brazil. The purpose of his visit to Switzerland was to visit the Kandersteg International Scout Centre as YAB Datuk Seri Haji Mohd Ali Rustam, who is also the President of the Scout Association of Malacca and Council Member of the Scout Association of Malaysia, would like to explore the possibility of hosting a similar centre in Melaka.
He was accompanied on the visit to the Centre by Puan Siti Hajjar Adnin, Deputy Permanent Representative/Consul General of the Permanent Mission of Malaysia to the United Nations, Geneva and Mr. Daud Awang, Press Secretary to the Chief Minister. The delegation had a very fruitful visit to the Kandersteg International Scout Centre.
Dato' Ho May Yong, Ambassador of Malaysia to Switzerland later hosted YAB Datuk Seri Haji Mohd Ali Rustam and the delegation to a Hi-Tea at her Residence.
