MALAYSIA PROMOTES "VISIT MALAYSIA 2026" (VM2026) AT THE

UNWG INTERNATIONAL BAZAAR 2025, GENEVA, SWITZERLAND

9 DECEMBER 2025

On 9 December 2025, the Permanent Mission of Malaysia to the United Nations in Geneva participated in the United Nations Women’s Guild (UNWG) International Bazaar 2025. The annual event was organised by UNWG, which brings together UN Member States to showcase cultural heritage, handicrafts, and national cuisines, while raising funds for global charitable causes.

Malaysia’s booth was a major attraction, featuring signature dishes such as Nasi Lemak, Teh Tarik, Satay, and Curry Puffs, which received a stunning response from visitors. Attendees also expressed deep interest in Malaysia’s cultural diversity and unique gastronomic traditions, reflecting the strong appeal of the nation’s multicultural identity.

The Permanent Representative of Malaysia to the United Nations and Other International Organisations in Geneva, H.E. Dato’ Nadzirah Osman stated that Malaysia’s participation in this programme also focused on promoting "Visit Malaysia Year 2026" (VM2026) campaign, aimed at strengthening Malaysia’s position as a preferred global tourism destination.

VM2026 highlights the concept of unity in diversity, reflecting Malaysia’s various ethnic and cultural communities living in harmony. This unique diversity forms the foundation of Malaysia’s globally recognised tourism brand, “Malaysia, Truly Asia”, Dato' Nadzirah added.

On this event, Mrs. Nor Syazana binti Mat Nor, spouse of a Malaysian diplomat, was interviewed by local media representatives on Malaysia's culinary specialities and handicraft products. The interview was conducted in Bahasa Melayu, as part of ongoing efforts to promote the National Language on the international stage.

The Permanent Mission will continue to strengthen its efforts to promote Malaysia’s culture, tourism, and national branding internationally, particularly in the lead-up to VM2026.
