Tourism industry is a major contributor to the nation’s socio-economic development. In an effort to woo more Algerian tourists to visit Malaysia and vice-versa, H.E. Dr. Hasrul Sani Mujtabar, Ambassador of Malaysia to Algeria paid a courtesy call on H.E. Smail MIMOUN, the Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts of Algeria at his office on 11 January 2012. The Ambassador was accompanied by Puan Rosmawati Mat Junoh, the Second Secretary of the Embassy. On the Algerian side, Mr. Chabi Ben Chabi, Political Secretary to the Minister, was also in attendance.
Both sides also discussed the possible cooperation in the field of handicrafts, including, the possibility of holding “Handicraft Week” in each other’s country starting this year.

VISITE DE COURTOISIE AU MINISTRE ALGERIEN DU TOURISM ET DE L’ARTISANAT
L’Industrie du Tourisme contribue fortement au développement socio-économique de la nation. Dans un effort d’encourager plus de touristes algeriens à visiter la Malaisie et vice-versa, SEM Dr. Hasrul Sani Mujtabar, Ambassadeur de Malaisie en Algerie, a effectué une visite de courtoisie à SEM Smail MIMOUN, Ministre Algerien du Tourisme et de l’Artisanat, au siège de son ministère le 11 janvier 2012. L'Ambassadeur était accompagné par Mme Rosmawati Mat Junoh, Deuxième Secrétaire de l'Ambassade. Du côté Algérien, M. Chabi Ben Chabi, Chef de Cabinet du Ministère, était également présent.
Les deux parties ont également discuté de l'éventuelle coopération dans le domaine de l'artisanat, notamment, de la possibilité d'organiser la «Semaine de l’Artisanat» de chaque pays, dans l’un des deux pays, à partir de cette année
