As part of the international community, the plight of over 400,000 refugees that crossed to Tunisia from Libya, have not been forgotten by Malaysia. MERCY, through the assistance of the Embassy of Malaysia in Algeria and the Malaysian Honorary Consul office in Tunis, had made a positive contribution by providing relevant medical attention and equipment at Tataouine Regional Hospital in southern Tunisia.
Tunisia has expressed its deep appreciation to Malaysia for the timely humanitarian assistance.
