Visa Requirement for Foreigner
The Embassy of Malaysia in Algiers would like to inform you that all foreign citizens travelling to Malaysia must complete the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC). Effective from January 1, 2024, completion of this MDAC will be mandatory, except for those listed below:
- Citizen of Singapore;
- Diplomatic and official passport holders;
- Malaysian Permanent Residents and Long-Term Pass holders;
- General Certificate of Identity (GCI) Brunei Darussalam holders;
- Brunei Malaysia Frequent Traveller Facility holders;
- Thailand Border Pass holders; and
- Indonesia Cross-Border Travel Document (PLB) holders
Before arriving in Malaysia, all foreign citizens must complete and submit the MDAC within 3 days of their arrival. The registration link is as follows:

When arriving in Malaysia, all foreign citizens must show MDAC registration and verify their passports at the immigration department counter.

Algerian citizens do not require visa to enter Malaysia for any social visit not exceeding 90 days (e.g. tourism, visiting friends or relatives, attending meetings, seminars, conferences or business discussions, factory inspection, auditing company's account, signing agreements, surveying investment opportunities, setting up a company or factory, sitting for examinations, taking part in sports competition or on a goodwill mission for students).
Algerian citizens, however, are required to obtain visa if they are to engage in employment or professional activities in Malaysia either paid or unpaid or to enter Malaysia for a purpose other than the ones stated above. Requirements for visa application are as follows:
- A visa application (obtainable from the Embassy) ;
- 1 recent coloured photo (3.5 x 5cm ) ;
- Passport (with a validity of more than 6 months from proposed date of arrival in Malaysia) ;
- An approval letter from Immigration Department of Malaysia approving the issuance of Employment, Professional or Dependent Pass to the applicant (if applicable) ;
- Flight tickets (confirm both ways) ;
- Any other supporting document;
- A visa fee of RM20.00 (payable in equivalent amount in local currency USD 20).
Citizens from other countries who require visa to enter Malaysia may also apply for the visa at the Embassy if they are departing from Algeria only.

| 4. | i- Conditions for Visa Without Reference (VWTR): | |

| a) | Posses confirm air ticket back to country of origin or current residing country or posses visa and confirm air ticket to country of onward destination. |
|
| b) | Visitors will be given a maximum 14 days stay with no extension allowed or much shorter period of stay for those who are on transit before continuing their onward journey. |
| ii- Conditions for Visa With Reference (VWR): | ||
| a) | This visa is issued for those traveling on business or investment only. | |
|
| b) | Trip MUST be sponsored by a local high level individual or a local business company which invites them to Malaysia (the sponsoring company need to be well established and is required to submit copies of Form 9, 24 and 49 to the Immigration Department of Malaysia). |

| c) | The sponsor MUST deposit RM 2000.00 per person to the Immigration Department of Malaysia as a security deposit. |

| d) | Visitors will be given a maximum 30 days of stay with no extension allowed. |

| 5. | Extension of Social/Business pass is not allowed unless approved by the Director General or Deputy Director General of the Immigration Department of Malaysia. | |
