The Chung Hwa Miri High School Brass Band was chosen as the best performing band among all the local and international bands that participated at the annual Murcia Spring Festival 2009, which ran from 16-18 April 2009.
The Malaysian band, consisted of 80 members playing various musical instruments had also managed to impress the audience with its outstanding performance during the gala evening on 17 April 2009.
Malaysia’s Ambassador to Spain, Y. Bhg. Dato’ Naimun Ashakli Mohammad was cordially invited to this festival by the organizer. Y.Bhg. Dato’ was also present on stage during the officiating ceremony on 16 April 2009 upon the invitation from the Mayor of Murcia, Mr. Miguel Angel Camara Botia and the Chairperson of the Municipality of Murcia, Mr. Ismael Gonzalez Lorente.
