The Embassy of Malaysia in Madrid successfully hosted the official launch of the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 campaign at the prestigious Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid. Supported by Tourism Malaysia Paris, the event welcomed over 150 distinguished guests, including leading Spanish travel industry players, government officials, influencers, and media representatives. The launch marks the beginning of Malaysia’s year-long initiative to strengthen tourism ties with Spain. The program featured an inspiring keynote by Mr. Mohd Farhan Mohd Areffin, Chargé d’Affaires a.i., who highlighted the strong people-to-people connections between Malaysia and Spain as well as Malaysia’s commitment to sustainable tourism. Mrs. Zalina Ahmad, Director of Tourism Malaysia Paris, also delivered an engaging presentation on Malaysia’s diverse tourism offerings, exciting calendar of events, and potential avenues for collaboration.
Guests enjoyed vibrant cultural performances, including traditional dances—Lemak Manis, Zapin Ya Salam, and Cak-Cak Angkung—alongside a captivating Pencak Silat showcase. The evening was further enhanced by a spread of authentic Malaysian cuisine such as Satay Ayam and Sagu Gula Melaka. The event concluded with an exciting lucky draw featuring dining vouchers, private tours, and luxury hotel stays in Malaysia.The launch successfully strengthened Malaysia’s presence as a premier destination for Spanish travelers.
