On 25 March 2026, H.E. Ambassador Haznah Md Hashim held a substantive discussion with Hon. Manuel Alés, Deputy Mayor of Seville and President of the Plenary, to advance Malaysia-Spain strategic economic and defence cooperation. As Seville is the production hub for the Airbus A400M, a cornerstone of the Royal Malaysian Air Force, the engagement celebrated Malaysia’s legacy as the aircraft's first export customer. Discussions explored expanding this relationship towards deeper technical collaboration and integrating Malaysian semiconductor expertise into the European aerospace value chain. As global leder for "back-end" semiconductor production, Malaysia is well-positioned to collaborate with Spain towards enhancing inter-regional supply chain resilience and drive industrial innovation.
