WORKING VISIT TO ANDALUCIA

H.E. Dato’ Ilankovan Kolandavelu, the Ambassador of Malaysia to Spain led an Investment Mission to Andalusia region from 29 April to 3 May 2012. The Director of MIDA based in Paris also participated in the visit. The delegation met and briefed the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Cadiz and Sevilla and a number of Spanish companies that were interested to explore investment opportunities in Malaysia. During the visit the delegation was able to secure a firm commitment from a Spanish company to invest RM82 million in Johore to produce packing materials and pallets for ACERINOX (a Spanish company which has invested RM2 billion to establish a stainless steel factory in Johor). The delegation also visited AIRBUS Assembly Plant in Sevilla. AIRBUS is producing four A400 military transport plans for Airforce Malaysia and some Malaysian vendors are producing parts for AIRBUS.
