Electronic Visa (eVISA)

 

Please be advised that the official website for Malaysia eVisa applications is MyVisa Malaysia at https://malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my/

 

Any other website claiming to process or facilitate Malaysia eVisa applications is not an authorised or official platform of the Government of Malaysia.

 

Applicants are therefore strongly advised to submit their applications only through the official Malaysia eVisa portal to ensure the authenticity and security of their application process.

Tourist and Business Travel

 

Holders of Ethiopian passports are required to obtain a visa prior to travelling to Malaysia for tourism, business or other purposes. Applications can be submitted online through the Malaysian eVISA system at:

IMPORTANT NOTES:

 

  • All visa applications must be submitted exclusively through the online system via the link provided above;
  • The Embassy of Malaysia in Addis Ababa does not accept or process manual/walk-in visa applications, nor does it issue visas manually;
  • The Embassy of Malaysia in Addis Ababa is not involved in the processing of online visa applications;
  • Online visa applications are handled by the designated authorised authorities/offices;
  • Given the high volume of applications, applicants are strongly advised to submit their visa applications together with all supporting documents well in advance of the intended travel date, preferably 3–4 weeks prior to departure.
  • In the event of the inquiry, applicants must respond accordingly in five (5) days.

 

International Students from Ethiopia

 

Ethiopian nationals travelling to Malaysia for the purpose of study are issued an Electronic Visa Approval Letter (eVAL) by the Immigration Department of Malaysia.

 

Upon arrival at a Malaysian port of entry, eVAL holders will be granted a Visa-On-Arrival for Foreign Students (VoAS) by the Immigration Department of Malaysia.

 

Accordingly, eVAL holders are not required to apply for a Single-Entry Visa (SEV) prior to their travel to Malaysia.
