5. Issuance of Emergency Certificate (Loss of Travel Document / Passport)

It is advisable that you keep a photocopy of you passport at all times to facilitate you, if you happen to lose your passport abroad.  In cases where, under any circumstances your travel document / passport is lost while abroad, these are the steps to follow:

1. Report the loss of travel document at the nearest police station.
2. Apply for an Emergency Certificate at the nearest Malaysian Mission. Documents required to be submitted are as follows:

• A copy of the police report.
• Other documents that can be used as proof of citizenship.
