2 MALAYSIAN KITISTS AT INTERNATIONAL KITE FESTIVAL OF GUJARAT

Two Malaysian kitists,  Susan and George Tan participated in the Gujarat International Kite Festival held from 10 to 14 January 2010 in Ahmedabad. The inauguration of the event was also attended by the Malaysian Consul General, Wan Zaidi Wan Abdullah and his spouse Zuhaila Abdul Latif.

Suan and George Tan are two kite enthusiasts representing Malaysian from e Persatuan Layang-layang Semenanjung Malaysia Zon Tengah. Flying a number of modern and traditional kites, the couple also put on display a large 20 year old wau bulan from his collection.

The Gujarat International Kite Festival is an annual international event participated by 102 international kitists from 32 countries including Malaysia. It was organized by the Government of Gujarat on the occasion of a local harvest festival “Uttarayan”.

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the event on 11 January 2010 with the presence of a number of foreign Ambassadors and Consuls General.
