Malaysian Food Festival, 23 February-4 March 2018

In collaboration with the Sofitel Hotel and Resort, Mumbai, the Consulate General of Malaysia organizes the Malaysian Food Festival which is held at the hotel on 23 February-4 March 2018. In marking the commencement of the festival, an inaugural ceremony was held on 23 February 2018, during which guests got a chance to witness a cultural performance by Selangor cultural troop, brought by Tourism Selangor, in cooperation with Tourism Malaysia. Throughout this festival, guests will have the chance to enjoy Malaysian cuisines as prepared by two Malaysian chefs who have been brought from Malaysia specifically for this purpose. The hotel has been decorated with Malaysian handicrafts, artwork and other decorative items to resemble Malaysian ambience. The festival gave the opportunity to the Consulate General to showcase Malaysian unique cuisines and culture to the local residents, with an objective to spur Malaysian tourism industry.
