Ambassador delivers Malaysia's statement at the 28th Plenary Meeting of the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York

Ambassador delivered Malaysia's statement at the 28th Plenary Meeting of the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York earlier today. In the statement delivered during deliberation on Agenda Item 38: The Necessity of Ending the Economic, Commercial and Financial Embargo Imposed by the United States of America Against Cuba, Malaysia expressed strong opposition against the imposition of unilateral coercive measures against any country, including Cuba. Such measures are contrary to international law, international humanitarian law, the UN Charter and the norma and principles of peaceful relations among States. Malaysia also called for the US and Cuba to resolve their differences through peaceful means, and avoid any actions that could be detrimental to regional peace and stability.
