Ambassador delivered Malaysia's statement at the 79th UNGA First Committee Thematic Debate on Prevention of an Arms Race in Outer Space in New York earlier today. Malaysia underlined that it is imperative that outer space is protected in the common interest of all States, and used exclusively for peaceful purposes. Ambassador also reaffirmed Malaysia’s commitment to joining international treaties governing the use of outer space that uphold the legal principles adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1963.
