Ambassador delivered Malaysia's statement at the UN First Committee's Thematic Debate on Other Weapons of Mass Destruction held in New York earlier today. Malaysia among others reiterated the commitment to the goal of the total elimination of all weapons of mass destruction through sustained multilateral cooperation. Ambassador also shared the various initiatives undertaken by Malaysia in upholding our responsibilities as State Parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention and Biological Weapons Convention. They include the OPCW Mentorship/Partnership Programme 2024, and the Regional Kick-off Conference on Strengthening CBRN Medical Emergency Preparadness and Response in Southeast Asia.
