Ambassador delivered statement on behalf of ASEAN at the UN First Committee's Thematic Debate on Disarmament Machinery held in New York on 28 October 2024. ASEAN among others reiterated the call on the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva to make progress in key areas of disarmament. ASEAN also reaffirmed the commitment to continued efforts under the ASEAN Regional Forum Inter-Sessional Meeting on Non-Proliferation and Disarmament, in addition to continued support for UN Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in the Asia and the Pacific, as well as the UN Institute for Disarmament Research.
